Commissioned Work

One of my favorite things to do is to work with a client to design a piece that will be a special creation. Whether you have a certain wall in your home or office that needs a new look, or your committee needs a citation or retirement honor to be created, I can work with you to make sure your needs are met.

Below are some examples of pieces I have done through the years.

Calligraphy for Office or Home

I was given the responsibility of filling the wall of a Doctor’s office with a piece that would be uplifting and still go with their color scheme of greens and purples. I have always loved Robert Frost and thought that a combination of his “Road not Taken” quote layered above the mountains and river would make a stunning presentation. The all over piece’s final measurements were 32 x 40.

Calligraphy for Fund Raising

Alice Peck Day Hospital wanted a piece designed that would be given to each of their Honor Donors as a small thank you for their support. The hospital’s logo is a tree and so I designed a paper mold that would replicate this logo. I cast each one individually and then mounted them under the calligraphy. I then added each person’s name to the small calligraphy underneath to personalize each piece.

Calligraphy for Honorary Degrees and Occasions

Annual events often honor a retiree or in this case an organization that honors individuals or other organizations that support the mission of the NH Civil Liberties Union. Each year the NHCLU comes to me with a name or a group of names to be celebrated at their annual banquet. I work with them to choose a design that can encompass the receiving organization’s values and meaning.
